Xbox problems

Postby Snaq » Sun Mar 07, 2010 10:40 am

Hello and thanks for making this little awesome program!
Im loving it, but i have some minor problems:

Im running the remote on a iPhone with my Xbox, and when i try to start a movie etc that is compressed with WinRAR it just doesnt start.
However, if i go to More -> Video Sources -> And start the movie from there (same movie) it starts.

I cant seem to successfully configure the program to work over 3g instead of WiFi for some reason, any guide on how to do this when running XBMC on a Xbox?

And last, i read that if i flip the iPhone upside down the remote buttons would show up... Mine doesnt?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Snaq,

Currently library queuing does not work for Rar'd items. This is because of the way the items are queued directly from the database. Is there any particular reason that you don't unrar your media?

To set up 3g, you *should* be able to use the auto setup feature if you have a router that supports upnp. If not, you have to manually forward a port in your router to the ip address of your xbox on the port that the webserver is using. Since there are several thousand models of routers, we cannot offer guides for all of them. You can find guides for forwarding a port at portforward.com.

Ok, tried enabling upnp on my router but it didnt work.
I know how to forward a port, but which ip should i add in settings? The 192.xx one, or my "real" ip?

And what about the problem with the remote buttons that doesnt show?

I dont unrar my media because i never had to because of Xbmc built in support to play media from inside rar files

If you have properly forwarded the port to your XBMC machine, you would put your external IP address and the External port in the XBMC Remote settings menu. As for your issue with the buttons not showing up, I have never heard of this happening before and I cannot reproduce it. You might want to try deleting the app from both itunes and from your device, then reinstalling.

There, now it works over 3G. But i still cant get the remote buttons to show when flipping the phone over.
I hold the phone infront of me, and flip the phone with the top towards me, but nothing...
If i flip the bottom part upwards, the remote shows quickly and then disappear...
You said uninstall the program and reinstall, wouldnt that make me have to buy the program again?

Glad you got the 3g connection working. It is not as hard as it sounds ;)

You can redownload the app for free as many times as you like as long as you are using the same iTunes account that you purchased it with. Even though it might look like it is going to charge you a second time, it won't.
